Managing Internet Explorer 7 via Group Policy

 

Disclaimer: GPEDIT.MSC should be used by experienced administrators only.  Do NOT use it if you are not familiar with it without guidance from an experienced professional.

If you are running IE7 in a corporate environment, using Windows XP Professional, or Windows Vista you will have access to the Group Policy Object Editor (gpedit.msc). GPEDIT allows you to configure and control many features of Internet Explorer 7 as well as RSS Feed behaviour.

The options available to a PC or network administrator are myriad - far too many to discuss on this page.

One oft requested feature is the ability to move the IE7 address bar to the top of screen. This can be done via GPEDIT - specifically:
